Odete's Bio
Like most hairstylists, Odete began her career behind the chair. In 1999, she opened Artistex Salon & Spa in Westport, CT — a business she still proudly leads today. She loves the creativity, the connection with clients, and leading a strong team but she always felt there was more for her beyond the salon walls.
In 2008, she auditioned for Goldwell and earned a spot on their local team, NYC Academy team and now on their National team, a platform artist teaching hairstylists the latest in color and styling. In 2018, she won Gold in the USA for her color work, which consequently through her networking skills and persistence opened the door to editorial and runway work.
That momentum led to New York Fashion Week. First joining a team to then becoming a Key Lead Hairstylist in 2019.
Today, Odete is a salon owner, Goldwell National Artist, and leads backstage teams globally at Fashion Weeks and New York, London, Milan, Paris, Tokyo and Vancouver. All while still doing what she loves most......creating intentional beauty and elevating other artists.
